Christmas Stockings for Children in Broward County

Quilting in the Pines (http://www.pinesquilts.com) is getting ready to start making stockings for children who will be in the hospital this year at Christmas time.
We will be having a workshop after our August meeting to work on stockings.

Here is the one I'm making as a sample
Here is the red felt foundation that strips are sewn onto
you can go in any direction you choose.
Here is what the back will look like before trimming
Make sure you use the same color of thread as the foundation,
so it won't show when done.
Here it is trimmed, now put right sides together
 and sew.
Here it is sewn together, now turn and push all seams
out and then press with hot iron to help with the shape.
And now we have the stocking front and back done,
onto the cuff, here we go.
All done with Holly and Berries and hook for hanging.

Super Easy and Fun
Happy Stitching,
RoseMary

For the love of Christmas

Well, Christmas is just around the corner and I don't know about you, but I am not even close to being ready for it this year.  So many things have changed this year.  My husband Rich and I, closed our  furniture consignment shop in Austintown, Ohio, downsized and moved to Virginia for my husband's new job.  Have joined a new quilt guild, Cabin Branch Quilters and enjoying the new adventure and friends.
Here is what I am working on for Christmas.
These are so easy to make and you can make them into a tree skirt for a Christmas tree also.  This one is a table topper.  Check back in for the "How you can make this" tomorrow.
